48th AHC
MEMORIAL MONUMENT FUND
At the reunion in
Gettysburg, the attending members voted unanimously to establish a Memorial
Monument at Fort Rucker honoring the service of the 48th AHC and the
memory of our brothers who died in Vietnam. Other units have already
established monuments for that purpose. Initial estimates, based on
information from other units, is that the project could cost $6-7,000; note,
this estimate will be further refined once we have established design features
for the monument. More detailed information will be provided at a later
date.
We are now soliciting
donations to fund this project. Donors should note that this fund is not
tax exempt; to establish the fund as tax exempt would cost the Association at
least $2,000 in addition to the cost of the monument.
