Above is my platoon stationed at FOB Salerno, Afghanistan, on the border with Pakistan.  After our trial by fire the first week we were in country, we adopted the nickname "Blue Star Border Patrol" and two of my troops painted the concrete barrier.  We also made patches.  The "Blue Stars" became well known at the base because of that painting as well as the missions we did.
